I was born in Taipei, Taiwan. My family and I moved to the United States when I was eight years old. My father was an architect in Taiwan, which may be why I have such a strong interest in Asian architecture.

I discovered clay almost by accident. I decided to take a ceramics class while pursuing a degree in biology at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. The challenge of learning how to throw on a wheel intrigued me. After that, I was hooked. I ended up graduating with a degree in Elementary Education and Studio Art.

After teaching elementary school for 8 years, I finally have an opportunity to be a full-time studio potter. While I miss being around children all day, I am thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to spend most of my time working in my studio.
